The wedding

Yeah, so the wedding was great—a week and a half later and people are still talking about the party. I totally didn't expect this.

Our parents really did a kick-ass job of everything. :-D

We skipped the honeymoon trip to Santa Barbara, instead we both went back to work the Monday after the wedding and we're now really looking forward to our trip to South Carolina.

Just about everything is set except for our transportation to the Los Angeles International Airport from our home in Aliso Viejo. But with so many realtives in the neighborhood I'm not the least bit worried about it—if nobody steps up to the task an airport shuttle really isn't all that expensive.

I used American Express Travel to book our flights and rental car. I logged on directly to the Suburban Extended Stay web site to book the hotel room, I saved $30 per night for doing so! With taxes that was a savings of more than $210.

The joys of saving online!

4 days to go before the wedding

I've been spending most nights with my fiance at her place and while they have two computers at her home one is a 9 year-old iMac 333Mhz in a tiny closet that's as comfortable as using a computer in an airplane restroom. The other computer belongs to the porn-loving brother and its chock-full of, well I really don't know what but the hard drive is so full it's damn near useless.

So I've not been able to chronicle the events leading to our wedding as I'd like to.

Today I order the beer keg. It's going to be a 15.5 gallon tank of BJ's HARVEST HEFEWEIZEN®. My mother was concerned about the guest enjoying it and so was Hot Dogg (my finacee) but I reminded her that this is our event and that the guests will have to deal with what WE like. :-D heh heh

But I think those closest to us will enjoy it much: my mother (she doesn't like bitter beers and this Hefeweizen isn't particularly bitter), my dad (he'll enjoy the distinct fruity, spicy flavor) and Hot Dogg's dad.

chronic boredom? Failed Fast

I have this slight concern that I might suffer from Chronic Boredom or something along those lines (alas! might it be depression?). (see BOREDOM:PSYCHOLOGY)

You see, there are a great many things I'd like to do and a great many things I do in fact start and can do well in. My concern stems from my inability to be engaged by the very things that interest me.

The prime example that comes to mind and probably my single biggest concern is: SCHOOL.

I find the courses I need to take fascinating and the material we are asked to read and the assignments we are asked to do are very thought provoking, but I still fail to bring myself to do them all and complete them.

Why?

Because I can't get myself to be engaged by them.

It's not a problem with the task, it's a problem with me and it's keeping me from reaching my goals.

**sigh***

Also, I really wanted to fast today, on my birtday, as I read this character do on his birthday in a very cool short story in this cool book title “Los Angeles Noir.” But I didn’t want to lessen my chances of success with my Comic Spirit final exam today, so I ate. :-T
